1930s

27th September 1930 Coventry City 2-0 Queen’s Park Rangers (attendance c.15000)

A decent crowd saw James McIntyre’s Bantams complete a September hat-trick of home Division 3 South victories following the comfortable 4-0 defeat of Swindon Town and a 7-1 demolition of Thames. Two 1st half goals within 5 minutes from two of City’s Bill’s (Lake and Pick) saw off a strong Q.P.R side.  City eventually finished a comfortable tenth with 55 out of their 75 goals scored at Highfield Road! The programme was a similar design to the previous season but was slightly larger in size, sported an all-white cover and filled 18 pages. Interesting content include full match and players performance stats; match reports from the previous weeks 1st team and reserves game (in the London Combination) ; a column from the flourishing supporters club and a ‘guess who this is’ photo competition series about former players!
