Billy in the Academy Sky Blue 2012
Following on from Paul Hall more Birthday Greetings are in order today for another of our members, young former Sky Blue striker Billy Daniels who was born in Bristol on 3rd July 1994 and is therefore celebrating his 30th Birthday today. Congratulations to him!
Billy progressed through CCFC’s Academy to sign his first professional contract in May 2012 and Sky Blue ‘gaffer’ Andy Thorn (not long before he was sacked) gave the young striker his chance to make his professional debut for the Sky Blues on 14 August 2012, in a 1–0 League Cup victory at Dagenham & Redbridge. He signed a contract extension for then ‘gaffer’ Steven Pressley in the summer of 2013, the season the club spent its first period of exile at Northampton Town‘s Sixfields stadium) and that August scored his first two goals in professional football in a 5–4 City win against Bristol City followed by a brace in our away win against Carlisle United in the following league game.
A hernia problem limited the young players appearances subsequently and before he left the Sky Blues had clocked up 33 first team appearances in all competitions (3 goals) plus another two for Cheltenham Town in League Two, who he joined on a short loan in March 2014.
Billy won a professional contract at Notts. County in January 2015 and in eight months with them scored once in four appearances and then trialled for Nuneaton Town early in the 2015-16 season. After another short spell on trial, this time in Ireland, Billy returned to Nuneaton and in June 2016 signed for ‘the Borough’ permanently.

Billy Daniels gets his CCFPA tie from Sarah Morris
Then Billy joined Kidderminster Harriers for season 2018-19 and made 28 appearances as a midfielder (1 goal) and also expanded his football career options by opening his own footballing academy with qualified coaching based at local schools in Solihull. From July 2018 Billy plyed his footballing trade with National League North outfit Kidderminster Harriers before leaving the Kiddies to join Hednesford Town in August 2019. In 2021 Billy was last heard of signed by Aylesbury United.
Association Membership Sec. Sarah-Jane Morris presented Billy with his official membership badge and tie and they, along with CCFPA’s Mike Young and former CCFPA committee members Frank Pritchard and Sandra Garlick, welcomed him to the Association at a Sky Blues pre-season friendly at Nuneaton before the start of the 2016-17 season!
Have a great birthday today Billy! See you at a CCFPA event soon.
