Members News: Guess Who Is The Latest CCFPA Signing (Of Recent Vintage)

Posted by · Leave a Comment

Our second new CCFPA recruit of the day of whom we are close to revealing the identity (quite soon) comes from a much more recent playing era than the player whose identity we teased you about earlier! This one should be easier to guess from the hints below.

He is a Scottish International former Sky Blue central defender who played for CCFC towards the end of his professional career in two recent seasons. His signature was gained thanks to the efforts of CCFPA’s Recruitment Officer Ed Blackaby. He came to CCFC on a free from a Scottish Premier League outfit and by the time he left Tony Mowbray‘s CCFC side had clocked up more than eighty games in the Sky Blue first team shirt (netting three times).

Who is this Ex Sky Blue defender?

The always dependable and hard working defender first started out his professional career with two seasons at Scottish second division side before establshing his reputation in six seasons at the same SPL club the Sky Blues eventually signed him from. His first foray into English Premier League football was not successful so he returned to his homeland signing for another top club there. His time there was spent mainly out on loan in both England and Scotland and on the treatment table and our new recruit returned for a second spell at his first love SPL side.

After Coventry our man returned north of the border to sign for a Scottish Championship side for a couple seasons before hanging up his boots with a decent career total of 21 goals in 475 appearances.

If you can’t guess who he is from the doctored photo or outline profile above just check back on this site in a day or so when we will reveal all!
